June went by way too fast.... I can't believe it's already August! School starts Aug 21st for me (teacher meetings start on the 16th). I'm really starting to feel the pressure of my never ending to-do list.
Loving: I LOVE SUMMER! Getting to work from home is the best! It's nice to wear pjs and go to the bathroom when I want :-)
Thinking: Now that it's August it's hitting me how close I am to school starting. I am constantly thinking about the upcoming year. I've spent 5 years teaching 2nd grade and this will be my first year teaching 1st grade. I want to do well, and I've kinda been stressing myself out about it.
Wanting: I'm a bit of a perfectionist (runs in my family) and I want my classroom to be perfect. Obviously not going to happen, but I drive myself crazy trying, haha!
Needing: I splurged and bought myself a really nice easel! I'm super excited about it, but I need to finish assembling it. Correction: I need my husband to finish assembling it :-)
I also need lots of Sharpies and Post-It notes in a variety of colors :-)
And I need a cute outfit for back to school night and the first day of school. It just makes me feel a little more confident and happy. I don't have a picture of this because I still need to find it. I took my niece back to school shopping (she's a lot more fun to shop for), but I need to pick out a couple things for myself on our next girls trip (my mom, sister, and nice and I go shopping when the boys go fishing).

I love breakfast foods and one of my favorites is my mom's blueberry lemon muffins!DeAnne from First Grade and Fabulous for her What's Cooking Wednesday.
Here's the recipe for my blueberry lemon muffins:
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon lemon peel
1 cup milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoon lemon juice
** enough butter and sugar for dipping
Directions:1. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and lemon peel in a medium bowl. Stir in milk, egg, oil, and lemon juice until dry ingredients are moistened.
2. To prevent blueberries from turning the batter blue, save a little flour and use it to mix in with the blueberries before you fold them in.
3. Fold in blueberries. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until muffins are golden brown.
5. Dip muffin tops in butter and then sugar (If you want extra lemon flavor mix in some lemon juice with the butter).
6. Eat and enjoy!
This recipes makes 12 delicious muffins!

I'm linking up with with DeAnne from First Grade and Fabulous for her next Picture Book Linky. This one is all about math picture books. I love using picture books to introduce or reinforce a math concept!
Fair Bear Share - I love all the MathStart Books by Stuart Murphy! This one is a great one to talk about place value.
Two of Everything - I like using this book for math and writing. This cute little couple gets a large magical pot that doubles anything you put inside. For math you can use it to talk about the concept of doubling and double facts. For writing you can have students write about what they would put inside the pot.
Captain Invincible and the Space Shapes - This is a fun story to read when you're learning about 3D shapes.
Full House - This is a great book to read to introduce fractions.
Check out all the other picture books for math!
